Collagen Induction Therapy: Microneedling
What is microneedling?
Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation procedure used to treat a variety of skin concerns by increasing the skin’s own collagen and elastin production, resulting in smoother, firmer skin.
It involves the use of a motorized pen fit with sterile, single-use, surgical stainless steel needles which glide over the skin creating “microchannels.” Studies show microneedling can increase serum absorption by as much as 300%.
Each microneedling session includes serum application, and take home aftercare products, tailored to your skin’s individual needs.
Unlike skin peels, dermabrasion, or laser therapies, microneedling is gentle, nearly painless, and requires very little down time.
We also offer cosmetic acupuncture facials.

What can microneedling treat?
Microneedling may be beneficial for:
- Eliminating fine lines
- Reducing deeper wrinkles
- Fading age spots and sun spots
- Smoothing acne scars, and other types of scars
- Decreasing large pores
- Toning loose skin
- Improving overall skin texture

What to expect at a microneedling session...
Before microneedling, the areas being treated are thoroughly cleansed and massaged, and a numbing cream is applied – while microneedling is gentle, some people are more sensitive to sensation, and this will ensure comfort during treatment.
For the microneedling procedure, hyaluronic acid is used both as a skin lubricant, and a serum. Studies show hyaluronic acid encourages collagen production, improves elasticity, reduces scarring, and is a superior skin moisturizer.
After the microneedling procedure, calming serums are applied to the treatment area, and you will be given aftercare supplies to use at home for the next 2-3 days.
Depending on the shade of your complexion, you may experience some redness for the next 12-24 hours.

How many microneedling sessions do i need?
Because collagen and elastin take time to develop in the skin post-procedure, results will be realized in the coming weeks.
While some results may be realized with as little as one treatment, depending on your individual skincare goals, multiple sessions may be recommended, one month apart.
*An initial course of 3-4 treatments is a common recommendation; with 1-2 treatments recommended annually, as maintenance.
